I’m an only child. But I grew up with an older male cousin. Unfortunately he’s 14 years older than me. So I never got the chance to have that older sibling with the hot friends. *tears* And I for damn sure never had any friends who looked like he could be Odell Beckham Jr. *fans self*
The Games We Play by Alexandra Warren is about what happens when your brother’s best friend comes back to town and is lookin hella fine. The book starts off with Londyn and her brother Eric headed off to their mother’s annual Holiday party. Apparently moms like to turn up and the parties can get a bit “out of hand”. Mom is basically living her best life. So of course, when parents are crazy, usually the kids are super normal! So Londyn and Eric are trying to do a quick in and out, before things get too cray! But of course, there’s always one child who’s almost as crazy as their crazy parent, and Eric ends up abandoning Londyn to turn up with mom and company. In walks Chance.
Chance is Eric’s childhood friend. He’s always known Londyn as his best friend’s little sister. But its clear that now she’s grown all the way up!! She’s not the little kid he remembers and she’s has no problem communicating with Eric what she wants. Him.
I really really liked the book. And the reason is because these characters, particularly Londyn, had personality. Londyn wasn’t this innocent docile woman. She was vocal, aggressive, passionate. She was bold. And secretly inside, I aspire to be this bold. I also loved Chance. I love guys who are the go get em type. He was confident in himself and his ability to be with her. He was charming and sexy. Ladies! Where are these men??!! Overall, I definitely recommend this book. This is a great weekend read! #NoReadRegrets
