Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan *sports romance
This one will catch you so off guard, it’s crazy. You think you’re reading this story about this dude who’s an NBA player who falls for this girl that he “can’t have” but it is waaaay bigger than that. Y’all this one is one of those that makes you ask, “WTF is this!!??” So good y’all. And since I love sports romance, this one was excellent!
Love on the Highlight Reel by Christina C Jones *sports romance
This is literally one of my favorite books. I think it’s because it has that sports romance thing (which I love) but it also has a strong female lead, with a strong alpha. I like the idea of women being independent, but I love the concept of a man who is just a secure within himself to pursue this type of woman (kinda…you’ll see, he matures!). And so every time I read this book, I fall in love with Jordan Johnson just a little bit more!
The Carter Boys by Desiree *college/urban/romance
The Carter Boys is for grown-ups. First. It is not for the weak of heart or the easily offended. It deals with a very gritty and very real part of life. Bad stuff happens to good people and good stuff happens to bad people. It takes you on a rollercoaster of relationships, hate, envy, love, and power. I’m honestly pretty obsessed with Desiree’s writing and have read all of the books that she’s published. But if I had to pick a place to Highly Recommend her books. I’d pick this one (Even though for Love of the ATL is the kick off).
